The U.S. Postal Service issued 39-cent The Art of Disney: Romance commemorative stamps in four designs.
With the stamps, the Postal Service honors the art of romance as imagined by Walt Disney and his studio animators. This is the third stamp pane honoring the art of Disney to be issued by the Postal Service. The first, which was issued in 2004, was on the theme of friendship. The second, issued in 2005, focused on celebrations.
For first-day cancellations, stamps may be affixed to self-addressed envelopes and sent to THE ART OF DISNEY: ROMANCE COMMEMORATIVE STAMPS, POSTMASTER, 10401 POST OFFICE BOULEVARD, ORLANDO, FL 32862-9998.
All orders must be postmarked by May 20.
The U.S. Postal Service will issue a 39-cent Katherine Anne Porter commemorative stamp May 15 in Kyle, Texas.
Considered a master prose stylist, writer Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980) won the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1966 for "The Collected Stories of Katherine Anne Porter," which was published in 1965. This is the 22nd stamp to appear in the Literary Arts series.
For first-day cancellations, stamps may be purchased locally beginning May 16, affixed to self-addressed envelopes and sent to KATHERINE ANNE PORTER STAMP, POSTMASTER, KYLE, TX 78640-9998.
All orders must be postmarked by June 14.
The U.S. Postal Service will also issue a 39-cent AMBER Alert commemorative stamp May 25 in Washington D.C.
The Postal Service continues its tradition of drawing attention to important social causes by issuing the AMBER Alert stamp. The stamp honors a program dedicated to the rapid recovery of abducted children. AMBER is an acronym for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response. The stamp features a chalk pastel illustration of a reunited mother and child.
