January 2008
By Capper's Staff
The Oklahoma Quarter, the 46th in the 50 State Quarter Program, will be released this month. The coin features an image of the state bird, the Scissortail Flycatcher, with its distinctive tail feathers spread. It is flying over the state wildflower, the Indian Blanket, backed by a field of similar wildflowers. The coin is also inscribed with "1907," the year Oklahoma was admitted into the Union.
